Another Arcadia

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot that the self is something that exists temporarily, something that is “temporary.”
For example, in the act of sketching, I feel like I am working on the other side, but at the same time, I often feel that the other side is working on me, and that my own body is slowly being transformed through drawing. As I continue to painstakingly trace the epidermis of the tree in front of me, my own hand habits and the way I apply force gradually change through the repetition of the lines I draw.
Currently, I mainly create works with themes of flora, fauna, and landscapes. Over time, these sketched animals and plants, landscapes drawn by ancient people, and things that are already within oneself become emulsified, gradually shifting the “temporary” self to the side and depths, and creating an even more different kind of self. It transforms into objects with a kind of anachronism.
Through such a “temporary” self, I hope to be able to take the time to depict a different landscape, Arcadia, that we have not seen much of before, on the screen in the manner of creating folds.
