Remembering MIYAMOTO Koji
It was around the first or second year that we opened the gallery. I happened to have a conversation with the curator about Miyamoto’s works, which was very exciting because I was interested in Miyamoto’s work.
Miyamoto’s solo exhibition held in the fall of 1964 was of high quality. A couple of years later, he moved his studio to Paris.
The next time I saw him was around 1996 when he stopped by my gallery. At the time, we were planning an exhibition for a series called BACK & FORTH which would re-introduce some of the highly acclaimed exhibitions and artists’ works that had been held at our gallery. We immediately exhibited the collective works of Mr. Miyamoto before he moved to Paris.
The artist, Koji Miyamoto, passed away on August 30th of this year.
To honor his memory, I would like to exhibit some of his works from 1962 to 1966 that I was involved in.
I would like to express my heartfelt condolences.
